  • 3 teaspoons lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil such as olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1/4 cup queso fresco Mexican crumbling cheese, optional

  1. Blend the lime juice, garlic cloves, salt, oil, and water in a food processor until mostly liquid.  There will still be small pieces of garlic.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the liquid from the food processor.  Stir and mix until thoroughly combined.

  3. Shape into 4 patties and cook to desired doneness.  For food safety, use a meat thermometer and cook until the internal temperature reads 165 F.  Sprinkle with queso fresco and serve with your choice of toppings.
