Ingredients
2medium applescored and sliced, I prefer Honeycrisp or Pink Lady / Cripps Pink
1tablespoonunsalted butter
1tablespoonlemon juice
1teaspoonbrown sugar
1/2cupheavy whipping cream
Pinch of cinnamon
1cupgranola
Instructions
Place a mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer to chill.
Heat a nonstick skillet on medium low. Drop in the butter and let it melt and bubble gently. If it sizzles audibly, the skillet is too hot.
Add the apple slices and toss to coat. Sprinkle on the brown sugar and toss again. Let cook, stirring and turning the slices occasionally, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Apples are done when they are easily pierced by a fork. Remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
Remove the chilled bowl and whisk. Add the whipped cream and whisk briskly until soft peaks are formed. Add the cinnamon and keep whisking until cinnamon is completely incorporated.
Divide the apple slices between 4 serving dishes. Sprinkle with an equal amount of granola, then top with a dollop of cinnamon whipped cream. Serve immediately.
