We Should Cocoa badge

Once a month, the Chocolate Log Blog runs a chocolate-themed baking & cooking challenge called “We Should Cocoa.”  Back when my blog was called The Perfect Brownie, I participated a couple of times.  I made Pumpkin Brownies Baked in a Pumpkin for the Halloween theme, and Spiced Mexican Hot Chocolate Brownies for the Red Hot Chilli theme.

Last year, I told Choclette (the author of the Chocolate Log Blog) that I’d be interested in hosting.  My turn has finally come!  February’s We Should Cocoa challenge will be hosted right here at Recipe for Perfection, and the theme will be Brownies.

Here’s what Choclette has to say.

Conceived by myself (Choclette) and Chele of Chocolate Teapot fame, the idea is to make something with chocolate each month.  You can use any sort of chocolate or cocoa substance and use any ingredient that you like.  But you must include the special ingredient or theme selected by the host.  It can be sweet or savoury, simple or complicated; be as creative as you like.  You can use anyone’s recipe (acknowledging the source of course) or make up your own.

Here’s how to join the fun.

Here are a couple of things to remember!

  • On Twitter, use the tag #weshouldcocoa and we will retweet you!
  • You can add your entry to the We Should Cocoa group board on Pinterest!  If you are not already a member and would like to join, please ask Choclette.
  • The round up of entries will be posted on the relevant host’s blog on or before the last day of the month.
  • The new challenge will be posted on the 1st of the month.

I’m so glad you picked brownies as the theme! If I could bake and eat only one treat for the rest of my life, brownies would be it. I think I’m finally recovered enough from all my holiday baking projects that I can paricipate again, too.

Ah the perfect theme for February and the month of love. It’s so cold here in the UK, brownies are just what we need to cheer us up. Thank you for hosting Katie.

You got it! The official roundup will be the end of the month, but all the entries will be live on this page as they are submitted. And if you love brownies, you absolutely must see my favorite- Ultimate Deep Dish Brownies! Every time I look at this post, I end up baking them that very day.

What a well timed link up! Just been making this chocolate brownie recipe – which sadly I cannot take credit for – but can highly recommend. Bon appetit and bonjour all from France – do pop over and say hello <3
